The Sweater Weather Tag

Tuesday, September 9, 2014

Fall hasn't really come into full swing yet here in Middle Tennessee, but I feel like those gorgeous, brisk days are coming very, very soon.

Fall is such a wonderful season, and I've come to really appreciate it more and more as I've gotten older. Lots of fun things are happening in Fall, like Thanksgiving, Pumpkin Spice Lattes, festivals, and my own birthday. Also, there's more to look forward to as the season goes on, like wearing actual sweaters, the cinnamon apple cider we make as it really gets cold, new books and movies coming out, and seeing family that I haven't seen in awhile.

So, to really get into the Fall spirit, I thought it'd be fun to do the Sweater Weather tag, a fun little tag that's been going around on YouTube and blogs for awhile now.

1. Favorite Fall candle scent?

Right now, I've really been loving Bath and Body Works' Spiced Pumpkin Cider candle.

2. Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate?
All three! :)

3. What's the best fall memory you have?
In my hometown, we have a festival called Pumpkin Fest. I've been attending this festival every Fall since my childhood. Not only are pumpkins and vendors everywhere, but kids are dressed in Halloween costumes and they trick-or-treat at storefronts. It's absolutely adorable and it makes me so happy.

4. Which makeup trend do you prefer: dark lips or winged eyeliner?
Dark lips, just because they're a lot more wearable during the day. Winged eyeliner has always been a special occasion makeup look for me.

5. Best fragrance for Fall?

Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia Cologne, 100ml

Lately, I've been wearing Jo Malone's English Pear and Freesia. It's a scent I wear all the time anyway, but it makes me really happy to wear it and it works well as a transitional scent from Spring/Summer to Fall/Winter.

6. Favorite Fall/Thanksgiving food?
At Thanksgiving, I love turkey and dressing. In general during the Fall season, my family makes bacon-wrapped green beans, broccoli rice casserole, and fudge pie tartlets. YUM.

7. What is Autumn weather like where you live?
Weather in Middle Tennessee can be funny sometimes. It won't get really brisk until early/middle October, so it'll be in the 80's around here for a little longer.

8. Most worn sweater?

via Forever 21...but sold out :(

I have two of these sweaters that say (Just) Keep Calm - one in red and one in black. I wore them so much during college because they were easy to throw on and go for class. They will be GREAT for this coming Fall, too, just because of the fact that I can pair them with so many different colors of denim, and they look great with beanies.

9. Must-have nail polish this Fall?

COVERGIRL XL Nail Gel

I've been into dark purple lately. This season, I have a feeling that I'll be wearing Cover Girl's XL Nail Gel in Bodacious Berry a LOT.
Other picks: OPI's Lincoln Park after Dark, Essie's Partner in Crime, and OPI's Here Today, Aragon Tomorrow.

10. Football games or jumping in leaf piles?
In high school, I would have said Football games, just because of the social aspect. Now...I'll be right back, I just saw a leaf pile and I HAVE to jump in it. ;) (jk...but really, I won't resist walking through crunchy leaves once the colors change)

11. Skinny jeans or leggings?
Skinny jeans, especially with boot socks!

12. Combat Boots, Riding Boots, or Uggs?
Riding boots all the way! I'll be living in riding boots this coming season.

13. Is pumpkin spice worth the hype?
Let's just say that it tastes like drinking a cookie, and that in turn is made of joy.

14. Favorite Fall TV show?
Doctor Who! I LOVE this new season!

15. What song really gets you into the Fall spirit?
