How I Get Inspiration for Blog Posts

Blogging is a fun adventure that I've dabbled in for years now, from various Tumblrs to the photography blog I made for a college class to right here on [Savannah] in Wonderland. I've played around with various post types and ideas, and I've had a blast sharing my thoughts and life events with you.

But how do I come up with these blog post ideas? Here are my various and sundry tips:

• Don't limit yourself to just one topic. I blog about a variety of things beyond what's in my topics bar at the top of the page, even if I just group it under generic posts/"real talk". 
• Don't stress yourself out with a schedule. Scheduling in advance is a great idea, especially if you're busy or are traveling, but if you're just running a personal blog as a hobby (which I do), then forcing yourself to stick to a schedule will just lead to burnout. You will post better quality material when you actually want to post material.
• Write from experience. This is my advice that I usually give when I talk about creative writing, and the same applies to your blog. Did you do something fun and want to share it with your readers? Blog about it! Do you have advice for any kind of hobby? Write up a tutorial or tip post! Words and pictures combined with your experience will make your posts glow with excitement that's contagious to your readers. And speaking of readers...
• Don't worry about impressing your readers. If all you worry about is if your post will gain followers or traction on social media, then you're not going to enjoy blogging at all. Blog what you know and what you love, and you'll have an audience. I'm happy that I know a lot of my readers in real life, and I've gotten to know some of the readers who have commented on my blog over the past year and few months, and both have been so fun and so rewarding.
• Finally, check out other blogs and/or Pinterest for ideas. So many blogs and Pinterest boards have the market cornered when it comes to blog posts and inspiration. Just take a quick search and you'll find a whole host of things to potentially inspire you. (Quick note: If you are inspired by another blog's post, linking back to them would be a nice thing to do. :) )
